Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary

Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary is an animal sanctuary in Wayanad, Kerala, south India. It is on the way from Mysore to Sultan Battery. A variety of large wild animals such as Indian Bison, elephant, deer and tiger are found there. There are also quite a few unusual birds in the sanctuary. In particular, Peafowl tend to be very common in the area.Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary is the second largest wildlife sanctuary in Kerala. It is bestowed with lush green forests and rich wildlife.

Kuruvadweep

Kuruva Island is a beautiful tourist spot located in the heavenly Wayanad. Situated in the Kabana River tributary, Kuruva Island is a gift of nature to Wayanad tourists. You are astounded by the calm and gorgeous ambience prevailing in the place. The vast stretch of evergreen forests in the surroundings present a great getaway. Kuruva Island is separated from other spots but houses a number of rare birds, orchids and herbs. Kuruva Island is at a distance of seventeen kilometers from Mananthavady.

Banasura Sagar Dam

Banasura Sagar Dam consisting of a dam and a canal began operating as part of the Indian Banasura Sagar Project. Situated about 15 km from Kalpetta, the dam holds a large expanse of water and its picturesque beauty is enhanced by the chain of mountains seen on the backdrop. It is constructed in the Banasura Lake and the nearby mountains are known as Banasura Hills.


Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary

Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary or Wayanad Wildlife sanctuary in Wayanad, Kerala, has a wide variety of animals. Visitors are restricted to the outer tourist zone. The sanctuary is located 20 km east of Mananthavady, 13 km from Thirunelly on the Kodagu Road. Wayanad wild life sanctuary Tholpetty is a brilliant trekking spot where you can explore a lot. The types of deers seen here are red deer and spotted deer. You can also view wild boar, peacocks and peahens. Visiting hours: 0600 - 0800 hrs & 1500 - 1730 hrs

Meenmutty waterfalls

After a 2-km drive from banasura island resort and less than a kilometre hike, on the banks of the river. a fascinating climb and hike right up to the waterfalls through massive rocks—some dangerously slippery—and a gushing stream. There were safety ropes across the path, tied to tree trunks or rocks on both sides of the stream. It is a 20-odd minute careful climb. then returned down through the forest trail. to get into the water again for a nice refreshing dip.

Pookode Lake

Pookot Lake is a picturesque location and a major tourist attraction in Wayanad. You will enjoy a day’s trip and camp in this location. The lake is surrounded by thick woods and trees. This scenic lake presents a calm and serene environment. This is an excellent camp site for peace lovers. This tourist attraction is situated half way from Calicut. From Kalpetta you can reach Pookot Lake in half an hour. Surrounded by forests, and greenery, Pookot lake Wayanad is an enchanting location for nature lovers and photographers.
